The Angolan Mine Action Database has been operational since 1995. The development of a national Mine Action System for data collection took place at INAROEE (the former government body for Mine Action in Angola). In December 2003 the database was transferred to CNIDAH where it now is the focal point for mine action data in Angola.

In the beginning of 2004 contacts were taken with Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) in order to install IMSMA as the mine action system in Angola. The system was installed in May the same year. IMSMA Data collection forms were, in collaboration with all the mine action operators in Angola, altered and adapted for mine action reality in Angola.
