“CNIDAH plays an important role in reconstructing Angola”

CNIDAH is a commission for planning and control of all mine action activities in Angola. The commission incorporates ministry of defense, agriculture, health, administration, planning and the Angolan army.

CNIDAHs role is to plan and control demining, MRE and victim assistance activities in the country. The commission has to make sure that mine action policies are being followed and that the government meets its obligations under the Ottawa convention.

CNIDAH cooperates with all mine action operators, internationals and nationals, and we expect that all operators should follow the orientations about planning and coordination. For example, an operator cannot elaborate a program or a project in any province without the knowledge of the Provincial Government. The provincial government should control all mine action activities in its jurisdiction.
